KNOXVILLE -- Tennessee coach Butch Jones won't forget last weekend's stunning collapse against Florida any time soon.
He'll remember it far longer than he would have had the Vols not blown a 13-point fourth-quarter lead.
"That's the thing in coaching is, you know, the wins are never as high as the lows of the losses," Jones said. "They live with you. You forget the wins. You never forget about the losses. They stay with you, and you learn from them."
Coaches' jobs after losses become significantly more challenging because of social media's ability to show players how fans and pundits are reacting, according to Jones.
"You can't let any negativity, clutter or distraction creep in and permeate throughout your football program," Jones said. "You can't allow that to happen."

Vols, Arkansas go from high hopes to butt of jokes
Despite Jones' warnings about social media, cornerback Cameron Sutton said he isn't affected by what others are saying about the Vols and their pair of devastating losses through four weeks.
"I don't really hear much of the noise outside of the program," Sutton said. "We are going to be at home this weekend. It's another opportunity to show who we are as a football team. We know our fan base is going to be there to support us through thick and thin."
Tennessee fans have grown restless following the latest loss. In an unscientific poll conducted by The Tennessean, 65 percent believe Jones is either already on the hot seat or would be placed on it with a loss to Arkansas on Saturday (6 p.m., ESPN2).

Poll: Is Jones on hot seat if UT loses to Arkansas?
Jones has now opened all three of his seasons in Knoxville with a 2-2 record. Because of the disappointing start to the season, Jones said it's important for the team to "stay the course" and rely on its veteran players, like injured fifth-year senior defensive end Curt Maggitt, who made the trip to Florida but did not play. The decision to bring Maggitt, the leader of the defense, was an easy one, according to Jones.
"I've been very proud of our players," Jones said. "I think they've handled everything very well. They've been very resilient, and we're responsible for what we create and we're looking forward to Saturday."
