Access to CM? That will take some time: Madan

Over the past two days, Narada News has released two videos with "unedited footage" of the purported sting on Trinamul leaders. The two videos show images resembling former transport minister Madan Mitra and urban development minister Firhad Hakim.

The footage throws light on an unanswered question - who took the journalists posing as businessmen to the Trinamul leaders?

The person resembling Mitra is seen speaking to an unseen person who identified himself as Tazdar Ali Meerza. The voice introduced himself as an employee of the education department and cousin of IPS officer S.M.H. Meerza, images of whom accepting cash were seen in footage released on March 14.

The person seen taking the journalist posing as a businessman to Hakim's residence resembles Trinamul MLA and deputy mayor of Calcutta, Iqbal Ahmed.

The Telegraph reproduces excerpts of conversation from the footage, which the newspaper could not independently verify.

Mitra: Aap toh dekha hum kaise kaam karate hain. Kal dekha na what I am doing for the development of the people (you have seen how I get work done. You saw yesterday, no, what I am doing for the development of the people?)

Mitra: Aapni police e aachhen? Aapnake Meerza pathiyechhe toh? (you are in the police? You have been sent by Meerza, no?)

Mitra: At the moment this is a million dollar question.... Our support will be required.... If we can cross 30 by both the parties, they will be having no other option than to come to us

Mitra: What we have told the NHAI also is that you give us money, we will organise. What we have done, we have formed a state highway corporation. Toh hum log kya kiya hum log bol diya tum humko paisa de do hum bana deta hai. Tum nahin karne ko sakta hai. Toh hamara pehle ek kaam nikla hai nau so sattar crore ka, 970 crore. Ektho kaam bata sakta hai aapko (so what we have done is we have told them you give us the money, we will make it. You cannot do it. We have got one project of Rs 970 crore). Say 15-20km for that we have given, I think 200 something... 30 km... with roadside all arrangement and all that.... Massive job is going on in Bengal
