India-China Border Disengagement In Ladakh's Depsang And Demchok Almost Over; Both Armies Verifying Status: Report
According to a report by news agency ANI on Tuesday quoting defense sources India and China have made progress in withdrawing troops and infrastructure from the Depsang and Demchok regions in Eastern Ladakh as part of the border process. The verification of positions vacation and infrastructure removal, by both armies is currently underway indicating that the disengagement process is nearing completion.
Both military forces have taken down the constructions that were erected during the confrontation period between them well as removed any barriers in place. The disengagement was a result of diplomatic discussions between the two nations and was officially declared just before Prime Minister Modis meeting with Chinese Premier Xi Jinping at the Kazan BRICS summit, in Russia earlier this month.
