PM Modi expresses regret to citizens, for the failure to implement the program.

"I regret to inform the citizens aged over 70 in Delhi and West Bengal that I won't be able to provide my services " remarked Modi during his speech, on Ayurveda Day attributing this limitation to the state governments declining to participate in the program. The Prime Minister emphasized that four crore individuals have received benefits from Ayushman Bharat since its inception.

Many individuals previously sold their possessions to cover expenses they couldn't afford; a weight the program aims to alleviate by funding treatments up to ₹5 lakh rupees. However in 2019 West Bengal decided to not participate in the program with Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee criticizing Modi for claiming recognition as states shared some of the financial burden. Delhi also refrained from participating due to perceived limitations, in coverage offered by the initiative compared to its local schemes.

On the occasion of Ayurveda Day celebrations the Prime Minister also kicked off healthcare initiatives valued at ₹12 850 crores. He outlined five components of a national health strategy ; preventive care, timely medical assistance, cost effective treatment and medications well equipped medical facilities staffed with proficient physicians, in rural areas and integration of cutting edge technology. These efforts aim to offer healthcare services throughout the country.
