Ola Electric boosts service capacity by 30%; adds over 50 centers, and 500 technicians to clear complaint backlog | Business Insider India

Indias leading manufacturer has boosted the capacity of its service centers across the country by over 30% with the goal of improving customer service and satisfaction levels as per sources, with the situation.

The company backed by Softbank Group that dominates a portion of the e scooter market has hired over 50 staff members and onboarded more than 500 service specialists, at both new and existing service hubs to enhance productivity and tackle any outstanding assignments.

The company has just announced that it has addressed 99 percent of the pending complaints despite facing public scrutiny, over its electric scooters daily issues and challenges." They are said to be looking into this claim and have engaged Ernst & Young to improve their service operations and streamline their strategies and processes.

An experienced employee, at the company shared confidentially that they have already taken care of most of the service requests and anticipate resolving the remaining ones in the next few weeks.

This month the company drew notice when its founder and comedian Kunal Kamra got into a dispute, about the quality of service provided.

During the week Ola Electric shares maintained a 'buy' rating with a target price of Rs 110 per share which was adjusted from the recommendation of Rs 140 by a global research firm that re examined Ola Electrics service centers a month after an inspection in September and emphasized the need for substantial improvements, at these locations.

The stock prices of Ola Electric on the NSE dropped below their public offering (IPO) price of Rs 76 on Tuesday to hit a low of Rs 74.84 in the past year before finishing at Rs 80.90 with a gain of 1.34 %. Presently the company has a market value of Rs 35 683.61 crore. Closed today at Rs 80.88 showing an increase of 1.28 %, on the BSE.

In September this year Bhavish Aggarwal the founder and CMD unveiled the #HyperService initiative focused on providing notch, after sales service using technology.Ola Electric plans to increase its service centers to 1,o00 by December 2024 as part of this initiative announcement.

According to data from the Vahan website source " Ola Electric has strengthened its position in the industry by securing, over 30% of the market share as of October 2024 compared to 27% in September 2024."
