India's coal production sees 7.5 pc growth in October
In a statement released on Friday by the government of India, in New Delhi via SocialNews.XYZ network reports that coal production in the country soared to 84.45 million tonnes (MT ) this October marking a 7.48, per cent increase compared to year s production of 78.57 MT during the period.
In October 2024 coal production, from both sources and other entities saw significant expansion to reach 16 59 million tonnes compared to years 11 70 million tonnes indicating a substantial growth rate of 41 75 percent according to data, from the Ministry of Coal.
As of October in the years data revealed that coal production reached 537․45 million tons compared to 506․56 million tons, in the same period of the previous fiscal year 2023–24. Marking a growth of, per cent.
There has been an increase, in coal production recently as the government is dedicated to maintaining a coal supply to fulfill Indias energy needs by enhancing production efficiency and improving logistical operations to meet the countrys energy objectives.
In October coal shipments saw a rise reaching an impressive 82 89 million tons. This marks a growth of 4 60 percent, over the 79 25 million tons reported in October 2023. Furthermore coal shipments, from other sources also increased to 16 18 million tons in October compared to 11 83 million tons year reflective of a growth of 36 83 percent.
During the months, from April to October this year. the total coal supply has gone up to 571..39 million tonnes for FY 2024–25. in contrast to 541..51 million tonnes during the period in FY 2023–24. indicating a growth of 5..52 percent. as stated by the ministry.. Coal production also saw a rise of 2..6 percent (year, on year) in September. According to the data, from the Index of Eight Core Industries (ICI) there was a 5·nine percent rise in its cumulative index from April to September 2024–25 compared to the same period, in the previous year.
