Ilya Lichtenstein is an entrepreneur originally from Russia who has been given a five year prison sentence for hacking into the Bitfinex exchange back in 2016 and stealing 120000 Bitcoins worth $71 million at the time but now valued at close to $10 billion as reported by the BBC on Friday the 15th of November last year when Lichtenstein had already confessed his involvement, in the hacking incident related to Bitfinex. Then the stolen sum was valued at $71 million initially; with Bitcoins value skyrocketting since then it has ballooned to an estimated $10 billion, at todays exchange rate.
