Why X Plans to Charge New Users for Posting

After three months of creating an account new users can freely post messages without any charges.

Elon Musk has reportedly decided to introduce a payment system, for users who join his social networking platform X (formerly known as Twitter). This development was brought to light by TechCrunchs report.

New members will have the option to share messages at no cost after three months of joining the platform without any charges incurred for posting content during this period of time. The rationale behind this approach is to prevent an overflow of automated accounts and bots as, per Musks perspective."The existing AI systems and groups dedicated to disruption have developed tactics to bypass bot identification checks " he highlighted.

X’s Struggle to Compete with TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram

Year in October the social platform X initiated a $ 2 annual fee, for new unverified users residing in New Zealand and the Philippines.

Users who are new and signed up for the platform from these areas have the ability to view posts. Are unable to engage with them in any way without payment for additional features, like posting content or interacting by liking or commenting on posts.

How the Fee System Aims to Reduce Bot Activity

The social platform X led by Elon Musk is facing challenges in enticing content creators despite its endeavors to do so and notably falls behind platforms, like YouTube and TikTok owned by Meta Platforms in terms of user engagement.
