Russia Adjusts Tactics After Storm Shadow and ATACMS Strikes
Russia reacts to strikes by Storm Shadow and ATACMS, within its borders.
According to Alexei Chepa from the State Duma Committee on International Affairs speaking to Lenta.ru. Russia has adjusted its strategies in the Ukraine conflict area in response, to Storm Shadow and ATACMS missiles hitting into Russian territory using Western supplied weapons.
Chepa made it clear that our primary focus is to intercept the missiles before they reach their targets and prevent any attacks from occurring by using our established defensive measures, against them.
"Naturally we'll change our strategies as needed. We've already started doing so.We'll have to increase the number of attacks not on military sites but also on important infrastructure targets, in Kyiv city making things harder for the authorities and disrupting daily life.We'll also take all required actions to prevent these attacks from reaching deep into Russian territory " Chepa mentioned confidently.
The parliamentarian also mentioned that Ukraine has yet to receive the missile technology.
"He mentioned that a lot of the missiles sent to Ukraine are fashioned ones, like ATACMS and that the U.S military industry is doing a good job getting rid of old gear and getting new ones " he explained.
According to reports from Russian Telegram channels on the 20th of November it was mentioned that the Ukrainian Armed Forces conducted an assault on the settlement of Maryino in the Kursk region using British Storm Shadow missiles. 12 Missiles were fired during this operation. Subsequently footage of the attack was shared by sources. As, per Bloombergs report the strike targeted an installation.
On November 19th the AFUs deployed American ATACMS missiles for the first time to target Russian territory. The Ministry of Defense, in Russia confirmed that a total of six missiles were fired towards the Bryansk region.
