Hundreds of locals and visitors got into the holiday spirit during a Christmas festival in Walton that turned the town into a festive haven on Friday evening. Millennium Square was buzzing with live performances, seasonal stalls, and family-friendly activities, making it a memorable night for the community.

The event showcased a lively lineup of entertainment, featuring performances by the Elite Dance Group, the Feel Good Choir, Frankie and Lou, local singer Evy, and the Ein Kline Oompah Band. Adding to the festive cheer, Santa Claus, the Grinch, Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Sonic, and other beloved characters joined in the fun, delighting children and adults alike.

Jonathan Geldard, chairman of Walton Forum, expressed his appreciation for the efforts of Ann and Pierre Oxley, the event organizers, whose dedication brought the evening to life.

“Ann and Pierre’s commitment and hard work created a truly magical experience for Walton,” he said. “Their passion for fostering community spirit and celebrating the season has been truly inspiring. This event captured the heart of Walton, and we are deeply thankful for their vision and leadership.”

He extended gratitude to the event sponsors, including Taylor Wimpey, Frinton and Walton Town Council, Emerald Gardens, East Coast 5, Tendring Council, and Walton Forum, for their contributions.

Pierre Oxley, one of the organizers, shared his joy in seeing the community come together.

“It’s always an honor to bring some holiday magic to Walton,” he said. “Seeing the children meet Father Christmas and enjoying the incredible performances was heartwarming. These gatherings are essential for strengthening community ties and supporting local businesses.”

He also thanked the volunteers, stallholders, and performers whose efforts made the event a success, giving special recognition to A Perfect Touch for helping create a magical Santa experience for the children.

“As a Walton councillor, I believe in actively supporting initiatives that unite our community and enhance the town,” Oxley added. “This event wouldn’t have been possible without the sponsors and the incredible participation of so many. Whether it was the entertainment, the stalls, or the festive atmosphere, it was truly a night to remember. A heartfelt thank you to everyone involved.”
