'Blocked lines' causing delays for rail passengers travelling through Swindon

Rail passengers are facing delays in Swindon due to incomplete engineering works.
Great Western Railway (GWR) has warned of disruption as of Sunday morning between Reading and Swindon, meaning some services could be "delayed or revised."
A GWR spokesperson said: "Due to engineering works not being finished on time at Swindon all lines are closed. Disruption is expected until 9.30am.
"Train services between Reading and Swindon may be delayed or revised."
GWR has taken to X to warn this is also likely to cause delays between Bristol Temple Meads and Swindon via Bath Spa and Chippenham, as "all lines are blocked" between Bath Spa and Didcot Parkway.
On the GWR journey planner, all services passing through Swindon are currently marked as facing problems and appear to be delayed by nearly half an hour.
Passengers are advised to check their journey before travelling this morning for the latest updates.
