Man arrested following series of car thefts in North Cumbria

A MAN has been arrested following several car thefts in Carlisle.

The 45-year-old-man is in custody and is currently 'assisting officers with enquiries.'

In a post on social media, Cumbria Police said: "Carlisle Police are aware of a number of thefts from motor vehicles in the Currock area overnight and are appealing for witnesses or further victims who suspect that items have been taken from vehicles or outbuildings to get in touch via 101 this morning.

"A 45-year-old local male is in custody assisting officers with enquiries at this time."
