Real estate lender sets sights on NW growth with new office and leadership team | TheBusinessDesk.com
A London based real estate financial services firm has established a Manchester office and identifies the North West as the region from which it will manage its 2025 plans.
Sancus Lending UK has also appointed Andrew Charnley as its new Managing Director and Alex Garland as its new Commercial Director to support the office launch.
The lender, a bridging and development funding specialist, has selected Manchester as the site for its new office to tap into the city's strong market, professional network and talent pool.
Manchester is also one of the fastest growing cities in Europe.
Charnley and Garland, who have over 50 years combined real estate and commercial lending experience in a wide variety of asset classes, decided the right time had come to start this venture.
Charnley said: "We are very excited about opening a new office in Manchester and building out our UK business from that region, in addition to our London office.
"The year on year growth of the city having the office at its heart, surrounded by the professional marketplace and all the other things makes it well aligned to the relationship led business of Sancus."
He added: "This, coupled with the backing and support of our shareholder, creates a unique environment in which to build something new."
Garland said: "In the ever evolving real estate finance market, clients are looking for a relationship focused lender that delivers.
"Working with experienced decision makers, and decision makers that have the values that Sancus has always had, gives them that.
"We’ve been lucky enough to work with, and for, some exceptionally talented people in our careers so far. It’s taking all of our learnings and experience and putting them into our own business. We have worked together previously, and we know each other, and we know the market, and we know what our clients need," Charnley added.
The company has a clear plan for growth and development in 2025 and beyond, but the only real challenge, Charnley added, is that they don't support football clubs based in the city — not many people want to talk about Everton or Blackburn Rovers.
