CGI To Buy IT Services Firm Novatec

CGI, one of the largest IT and business consulting services firms in the world, announced that its wholly owned limited partnership, CGI Deutschland B.V. & Co. KG, has entered into an agreement to acquire Novatec, a IT services company that offers agile software engineering, digital products and strategic business & IT consulting services.

More than 300 highly trained IT and management consultants from Novatec's eight German locations, including the Stuttgart metropolitan area and the South-West region, and from Granada, Spain, will become a part of CGI and increase the company's presence in the manufacturing and financial services sectors, particularly in the automotive and e-mobility segments. The agreement was signed on January 29, 2025, and the deal is expected to be finalized in March 2025, once it has received regulatory approval and satisfies other usual closing conditions.

Novatec was established in 1996 and provides enterprise clients with IT consulting and software development services for digital strategies, cloud-based solutions, and digital product development. Moreover, Novatec's product solutions for application performance management will enhance CGI's current solution portfolio that enables clients to leverage new technologies such as AI to digital innovate quickly.

With the acquisition of Novatec, Novatec's clients will be able to access the global capabilities, delivery centers, and end-to-end services and solutions of CGI.
