Mexican President Nominates Jose Cuadra Garcia to Banxico Board

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum has nominated Jose Gabriel Cuadra Garcia to the central bank's five-member board, the bank said in a document seen by Bloomberg News. The nomination of Cuadra Garcia, who is now the head of the bank's Economic Studies Department, must be approved by the Senate, which is dominated by the ruling party. The board has been without a member since Dec. 31, the last day of office of Deputy Governor Irene Espinosa.
