Dubai South concludes successful 2024 across its different districts
February 3rd, 2025

Dubai South, the biggest single-urban master development that is focused on aviation, logistics and real estate, has concluded 2024 with very good performance in all the districts within the development.

In the past year, 415 new companies were welcomed in Dubai South, which has 4,044 operating companies at present, with a retention rate of 94% for existing companies.

This is because at the Dubai South Business Park, 500,000 square feet of office space was leased in 2024, three times as much as was leased in 2023.

This is where Dubai South Properties was able to finish Phase 1 of The Pulse Beachfront which has more than 200 units available on the market and 500 more units from other phases expected to be delivered by the end of H1 2025. In order to meet the increasing demand for apartments in Dubai South, South Living was introduced in the market and attracted a lot of interest in the market and had a full blown sell out. A contractor has been appointed and construction has started at the project.

Also, last year, GEMS Founders School opened its doors to more than 500 students and a agreement was reached with BT Properties, the largest private property developer in Asia to develop a gated master community within the Golf District of Dubai South.

This has been reinforced by the achievements of the Logistics District at Dubai South that build on its reputation as an important node of the UAE’s growing logistics sector. These include the official launch of a new state-of-the-art FedEx air and ground regional hub, the establishment of Boston Scientific’s regional distribution centre at Hellmann Calipar Healthcare Logistics’ facility, and the construction starting of a new facility by dnata Logistics.

Moreover, the initial stage of the UAE’s driverless vehicle tests, in cooperation with Evocargo, has been completed.

MBRAH has concluded several agreements with major aviation organizations to establish their presence at the hub within the aerospace domain. These include International Energy Resources (IER), which will build a modern MRO and engine test cell facility; ATS Technic and Liebherr Aerospace for MRO facilities; and SG Aircraft Maintenance Services and Sun Air Aircraft Maintenance Services. Further, Tim Aerospace has commenced construction of its new facility while Jet Flight Services and Comlux have opened their new facilities at Jet Flight Services and Comlux respectively at MBRAH.

This is according to Khalifa Al Zaffin, Executive Chairman of Dubai Aviation City Corporation and Dubai South, while commenting on the developments. He said, “We are very much proud of the achievements that were made in 2024. We are pleased with the new company registrations and the high retention rate, which shows the confidence of the business community in Dubai South. The continued success in the aviation, logistics, and real estate sectors supports Dubai South’s role in contributing to the government's economic diversification strategies and future growth plans. We will continue to nurture creativity, develop top-notch infrastructure, and advance the sustainable development of dynamic business environments.”
