Switzerland has just 18 hydrogen refueling stations for vehicles
April 12th, 2025

The hydrogen refueling infrastructure of Switzerland exists in a limited state with 18 stations located mainly on the A1 motorway that connects St. Gallen to Dietikon and passes through Bern and Crissier. The regions of Ticino and Valais remain without hydrogen stations but Egerkingen will receive its first station.

The number of hydrogen-powered passenger cars registered in Switzerland during this year stands at only two units. The industry now directs its attention toward commercial vehicles such as hydrogen-powered trucks because this approach will increase adoption and extend technology reach.
