US Agencies Tracked Foreign Visits to Musk Properties

The Wall Street Journal revealed that U.S. government agencies monitored foreign national visits to Elon Musk properties throughout 2022 and 2023 because of influence concerns.
The investigation according to unnamed sources involved both the Department of Homeland Security and the Justice Department. The investigation examined Eastern European nationals and other foreign visitors who met with Musk who controls Tesla and SpaceX and maintains important government contracts.
The public has expressed concern about Musk's high-level international connections because of his influential business and political relationships. The investigation aimed to determine if these visits attempted to influence Musk's decision-making process. The investigation ended without filing any charges while its current status remains unknown.
The FBI together with other agencies received briefings about this matter which started before President Trump took office. The Journal attempted to reach Musk for comment but he did not respond after his public disagreement with Trump last week.
The United States government has intensified its monitoring of foreign influence activities that target both strategic industries and influential public figures. The national security focus on outside influence has intensified because Musk's businesses lead important sectors including space exploration and telecommunications.
