Ukraine’s economy ministry said a U.S. delegation will visit in September as the two countries move forward with a joint investment fund created earlier this year under a critical minerals partnership.

Deputy Economy Minister Oleksiy Sobolev told reporters in Kyiv that the fund’s board of directors will convene its first meeting that month to review a slate of investment opportunities. “A large delegation will come from the U.S. in September to travel around Ukraine and look at these projects,” he said, noting that initial investments could be made within a year.

The fund is designed to back ventures that can help modernize Ukraine’s war-damaged economy and rebuild critical infrastructure after Russia’s invasion.Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal has already ordered a review of all licenses for mining strategic minerals, part of efforts to align with U.S. partners.

Washington and Kyiv consider critical raw materials which include battery and defense technology components as essential elements for their future partnership. With Ukraine seeking to attract global capital for reconstruction, the fund aims to channel private and public financing into high-impact projects. The visit will mark one of the most significant U.S. investment delegations to Ukraine since the war began.
