President Joe Biden is said to have addressed this matter in a conversation with Chinese President Xi Jinping at the summit, in Peru that took place two weeks ago.
The Biden government helped in freeing three individuals by exchanging them for some unidentified Chinese citizens detained in the United States as stated by an insider from the administration who is familiar, with the deal mentioned in Politico news outlets report. President Joe Biden discussed this issue personally with Xi Jinping during their meeting held in Peru.
Key Figures Involved in the Exchange
The White House and State Department officials have been engaged in discussions with their Chinese counterparts for years leading up, to the recent release of Mark Swidan, Kai Li and John Leung.
This conversation occurred following a trade in September where a Chinese individual whose identity was not disclosed was exchanged for the pastor David Lin who had been given an 18 year prison sentence.
