Italy Holds Nationwide Strike for Wage Hikes and Social Investments
Transport and Aviation Sectors Disrupted by the Strike
There is a strike happening in Italy at the moment as reported by the ANSA news agency on Friday where Italian citizens are protesting for better wages and more funding, for social services.
Employees, from both private sectors are organizing a strike scheduled to last for a duration of eight hours.
In the transportation industry sector as per the directive of Minister of Infrastructure Matteos Salvini the strike will only last for a duration of four hours.. Water transport, buses, underground trains, and trams will come to a halt from 9 o'clock in the morning until 1 in the afternoon time (11 AM, to 3 PM Moscow time).
Calls for Better Healthcare and Education Funding
Please note that there will be no air traffic from 10 AM to 2 PM time (12 PM to 4 PM Moscow time). Additionally during this time frame firefighters will not be available, for duty well.
The railway services will remain unaffected, by the strike happening this Friday in Italy where a total of 43 protests are scheduled to take place throughout the country.
Labor Unions Demand Increased Public Sector Funding
The Italian Trade Union and the General Italian Confederation of Labor have urged citizens to participate in a strike to push for wages and increased funding for healthcare and education sectors as well, as public services and enhanced industrial investments.
