Cinia Announces Successful Repair of Finland-Germany Cable

Communication cables under the Baltic Sea connecting Finland and Germany and Lithuania and Sweden have been repaired following damage, in mid November.

The repairs in the waters of Sweden, near Öland were finished yesterday before todays deadline as reported by the company Arelon that owns the telecommunications cable connecting Sweden and Lithuania which was also fixed on Thursday.

"The cable is up and running smoothly " according to the announcement.

The reason behind the cable breaks is still a mystery. Has not been determined yet by authorities investigating the issue at hand in the region where the incidents occurred initially raised concerns about a Chinese ship named Yi Peng 3 that was present in the vicinity at that time of the occurrences The vessel is now stationed at anchor, in the Kattegat Strait situated between Sweden and Denmark .
