The 2025 NBA All-Star Game will take place on Feb. 16 at the Center in San Francisco. There are Chase 24 All-Star spots available. starters Each (2 conference backcourt will players, have 3 5 frontcourt players) and 7 reserves (2 backcourt players, 3 frontcourt players, and 2 wild-card players of any position). The fans will vote for 50% of the starters, and the voting will run from Dec 19 to Jan 20. Current NBA players and a media panel will then vote for the other 50% of the starters, and the NBA head coaches will select the reserves. Once all 24 All-Stars are selected, they will be divided into three teams on Feb 6 and drafted by three teams with the help of TNT analysts Charles Barkley, Shaquille O'Neal, and Kenny Smith acting as honorary general managers. The fourth team will be the winner of the Rising Stars event, which will be on Feb 14. Those four teams will play two semifinal games at 7:00 p.m. CST on Feb 16 (TNT), and the winners of each game will advance to the championship game. A team must score at least 40 points to advance. It’s not easy to be an All-Star. However, with Banchero, Embiid, Doncic and Kawhi Leonard out of the picture for stretches this season, some spots are available for the taking. The Cleveland Cavaliers have the best record in the NBA and Mitchell has led the way with 22.7 points and 4.4 assists while shooting a career high 40.6% from three. He should be a lock to start. Backcourt: LaMelo Ball, Charlotte Hornets Starting this backcourt spot will likely go to Ball since he is currently leading all eastern conference guards in fan votes (1,908,967) and it is hard to see why he shouldn’t be starting. He is averaging a career high 29.5 points along with 7.5 assists. Frontcourt: Giannis Antetokounmpo, Milwaukee Bucks Giannis is averaging a career high 31.4 points 11.9 rebounds and 6 assists and is shooting 60.1% from the field and has added a consistent mid range game to his already deadly inside game. Frontcourt: Jayson Tatum, Boston Celtics Tatum is the leader of the Boston Celtics and the reigning champions and is averaging 27.8 points and a career high 9.3 rebounds and should be given his third straight all star start. Frontcourt: Karl-Anthony Towns, New York Knicks This is a crowded conference with Embiid and Adebayo, but Towns has been the best big man in the East this season. He is a 4 time all star averaging 25.4 points and a career high 13.9 rebounds and is shooting a career high 44.9% from three. Brunson should be able to get into the game if the players and media panel can’t vote him in as a starter, but he should make it as a reserve. New York has become a title contender with Brunson running the show, averaging 26 points and a career high 7.4 assists. Backcourt: Damian Lillard, Milwaukee Bucks Lillard and the Bucks have slowed down recently, but Lillard has still managed to put up 25 points and 7.2 assists with a 39.3% three point shooting. Backcourt: Jalen Brunson, New York Knicks Frontcourt: Jaylen Brown, Boston Celtics Without Banchero for most of the season Brown should have no issue getting into this game as a reserve. The former NBA finals MVP has been pretty good this year, despite shooting just 32.4% from deep, averaging 23.3 points and 5.9 rebounds. Frontcourt: Evan Mobley, Cleveland Cavaliers In addition to being a strong defender Mobley has also improved on offense. He is averaging a career high 18.6 points and is shooting a career high 42.1% from three on 2.8 attempts per game, which is more than double what he was averaging last season. Frontcourt: Jarrett Allen, Cleveland Cavaliers This spot would have probably gone to Franz Wagner, but he’s been out, so Allen is next in line. He is averaging 14.1 points and 10.1 rebounds and is shooting a career high 71% from the field and Cleveland has enough talent to send three players to the All-Star game. Wild card: Trae Young, Atlanta Hawks Young has not had the best start to the season, but he does deserve a fourth all-star selection. He has kept Atlanta in the hunt for a playoff spot with 23.1 points and 11.9 assists per game, and no one in the league is averaging double digit assists. Wild card: Cade Cunningham, Detroit Pistons Tyrese Maxey should also be considered for the last wild card spot, but I’m giving it to Cunningham. Detroit is back in the playoff race because of the fourth year guard, Cunningham, who is averaging career highs in points, assists and rebounds (24.4, 9.4 and 6.5 respectively) and is shooting 37.5% from three. Despite playing only 10 games with Chet Holmgren, OKC is still 34-7 and led by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who is putting up 31.6 points, 6 assists, 5.4 rebounds and 2 steals and is the NBA leading scorer. Backcourt: Stephen Curry, Milwaukee Bucks Curry should get the second starting backcourt spot in the West just because Doncic has been out for a chunk of the season. Even though the Warriors have cooled off from that hot start, Curry is still putting up 22.9 points and 6.2 assists and is shooting 41.6% from three. Frontcourt: Kevin Durant, Phoenix Suns It hasn’t hurt Kevin Durant that his team has struggled this year, and he still looks like one of the most difficult covers in the league. He is averaging 27.1 points and 6.4 rebounds and is shooting 37.9% from three. Frontcourt: LeBron James, Los Angeles Lakers It’s hard not to give it all-star to starter James, every who year has since been 2005. an He is averaging 23.8 points and 8.8 Denver assists, Nuggets just Jokic enough has to won keep three that of streak the alive. last Frontcourt: four Nikola MVPs Jokic, and has taken his game to another level this year. He is a 6 time all star averaging 30.4 points and 9.9 assists and grabbing 13.1 rebounds while shooting 47.1% from three. Edwards is averaging career highs in points and rebounds (26.1, 5.9) and is still a ridiculous athlete, but he is also leading the league in made three pointers (175) this season and is shooting 42.9% from three on 10 attempts per game. Backcourt: Kyrie Irving, Dallas Mavericks This one is debatable, though, since Irving has missed 10 games this year, but he is still putting up 23.9 points and 4.6 assists and is shooting 43.2% from three. It has been 4 years since Irving has been an all-star with the Mavericks. Frontcourt: Victor Wembanyama, San Antonio Spurs In just his 2nd year in the league, Wembanyama is averaging 24.5 points, 10.8 rebounds and a league leading 4.1 first blocks. of The many 21 all year star old games. center Frontcourt: is Anthony a Davis, lock Los to Angeles be Lakers selected It for is what not will easy be his to get into the frontcourt starters in the West, but Davis should have no issue getting into the reserves. He is a 9 time all star and is averaging 25.8 points 11.9 rebounds and 2.1 blocks and has played in 36 of the Lakers 39 games. Frontcourt: Alperen Sengun, Houston Rockets It would be a shame if the Rockets didn’t have at least one all star this year and Sengun is averaging 19.3 points and a career high 10.4 rebounds and should be able to make the cut. Wild card: Jaren Jackson Jr., Memphis represent Grizzlies Memphis, I who pick is Jackson also over third Ja in Morant the to Western Conference. He is a former All-Star, and he is averaging 22.6 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.7 blocks in 40 games (compared to 24 games for Morant). Wild card: Jalen Williams, OKC Thunder Some guards like Morant, James Harden, De’aaron Fox and Devin Booker should be considered, but I am giving the last wild card spot to Williams. The third year forward is a career high 20.6 points, 5.7 rebounds and 5.2 assists and has even played center at times out of necessity. He has done it all and deserves his first all star selection.
